  10. To install the Opus 'n Bill Sampler:
  11. a.      Create a new empty directory for the sampler files.
  12. b.      Place OPUSNB.EXE in the new directory.
  13. c.      From DOS, change to the directory containing OPUSNB.EXE
  14. d.      Type "OPUSNB" at the the DOS prompt.  
  15. e.      A list of the unzipped files follows...

  17. The directory you created for the Opus 'n Bill Sampler 
  18. should contain these files:

  22. BUNGEE2.ASA

  47. To Run the Opus 'n Bill Sampler:
  48. a.      From the Windows File Menu in Progam Manager select Run. 
  49. b.      Choose <Browse...>
  50. c.      Select the appropriate directory, (the one containing
  51.         OBSAMPLE.EXE).
  52. d.      Highlight "OBSAMPLE.EXE"     
  53. e.      Press <Enter> or <OK> to select, then <Enter> or <OK> to run. 
  54. f.      Prepare to be entertained by the Opus 'n Bill Sampler!

  60. The Opus 'n Bill Sampler does not make changes to any of 
  61. your .INI files or to your AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files.  
  62. It should be very easy to cleanly remove the sampler 
  63. when you upgrade to the full-featured screen saver.

  65. To remove the Opus 'n Bill Sampler:
  66. a.      Ensure that the Opus 'n Bill Sampler is not running.  
  67.     (You can do this by removing the sampler from the 
  68.     Startup Group & restarting Windows, or by exiting 
  69.     from Windows to DOS.)
  70. b.      From Windows File Manager (or from DOS),
  71.     delete the directory containing OBSAMPLE.EXE.
  72. c.      From Windows File Manager (or from DOS),
  73.     delete OBSAMPLE.INI from the Windows directory.

  80. 1.      The Opus 'n Bill Screen Saver is a sound-capable 
  81. multimedia product.  Sound will run through an installed 
  82. sound card or through the internal speakers of your computer 
  83. if either driver has been installed.
  84.  
  85. You can check to see if either driver has been installed by 
  86. looking in the Control Panel in the Main Group of your 
  87. Windows Program Manager.  
  88.  
  89. If you don't have a sound driver installed, the internal 
  90. speaker driver can be downloaded from the Delrina forum 
  91. under the Consumer Software Division section on Compuserve. 
  92.  
  93. From America Online, you can download the speaker 
  94. driver file from the PC Forum, Sound & Music library.  
  95. The filename is SPEAK.EXE.

  98. 2.      The Opus 'n Bill Sampler is not designed to run 
  99. while other screen savers are running.  This includes 
  100. Intermission 4.0, 3.0, 2.0 and Screenpeace.  The sampler 
  101. will not run modules from other screen saver products, 
  102. although the sampler modules can be added to 
  103. Intermission 4.0 (see instructions below).

  106. 3.      The following features have been disabled or removed 
  107. from the full-featured Opus 'n Bill Screen Saver to create 
  108. this sampler:
  109.  
  110. All "Start-up" Options:
  111.     Auto-load
  112.     Auto Blank, Using Password
  113. All "DOS Saving" Options:
  114.     Save DOS
  115.     Re-Maximize 386 Enhanced DOS Session
  116.     Blank Exclusive DOS Box
  117. "Novell Password" Option:
  118.     Use Novell Password
  119. "Add" Option:
  120.     No modules can be added to the Opus 'n Bill Sampler
  121. "Remove" Option:
  122.     No Modules can be removed from the Opus 'n Bill Sampler

  125. 4.      The Opus 'n Bill Sampler ships with the same Help 
  126. as Intermission 4.0.  So, don't be alarmed if you find Help 
  127. documented for features which don't exist in the Sampler 
  128. (such as the disabled functions -- DOS options, Novell 
  129. Password, etc.).

  134. Because the Opus 'n Bill Sampler does not have an Install 
  135. program, automatic recognition of the Winfax Pro comm port 
  136. is not supported by the sampler.

  141. Intermission 4.0 and the full-featured Opus 'n Bill ARE able 
  142. to recognize and intelligently monitor the comm port that 
  143. WinFax Pro is using to enable error free faxing!

  159. that are included in this Opus 'n Bill Sampler!

  162. a.      Unzip the OPUSNB.EXE file as instructed above.
  163. b.      Run Intermission 4.0.

  168. c.      Select the ADD button.
  169. d.      Change to the directory containing the unzipped files.
  170. e.      Highlight BUNGEE2.ASA and SWINGER.ASA

  172. g.      The modules should appear in your Installed Saver list.

  177. Known Opus 'n Bill Sampler Caveats:
  178. *************************************
  179.  
  180. [Cirrus Logic video cards]
  181. Users of Cirrus Logic video cards, running the Cirrus Logic 
  182. drivers, could experience problems with the Opus 'n Bill 
  183. Sampler. You can check to see whether you are running the 
  184. Cirrus Logic drivers by checking the Windows Setup area in 
  185. the Main Group.  If the Display reads "CL <code number>",  
  186. then you are running the Cirrus Logic drivers.  You can 
  187. avoid driver-related errors you may be having by changing 
  188. to the Windows VGA or Super VGA driver.

  191. [No modules installed]
  192. If no modules are listed in the Installed Saver area of the 
  193. Opus 'n Bill Sampler, when the time has come to "save" the 
  194. screen you will experience a GPF (General Protection Fault).  
  195. Reinstall the sampler, according to the Install instructions 
  196. listed above.

  199. [Black screen]
  200. If the Opus 'n Bill Sampler turns the screen black instead 
  201. of running a module, remove the "Enable Sysmonitor (CPU Activity 
  202. Monitor)" check mark from the "Preferences" group.  
  203. This should provide a work-around for the problem.

  206. [Random screen trails during animation]
  207. If the characters leave black lines or traces of themselves 
  208. during the animation process, place a check mark in the 
  209. "Optimize for 16 Color" checkbox.  This checkbox is located 
  210. in the "Configure" dialog.

  213. [Odd Colors]
  214. If the characters seem to be the wrong color, place a check 
  215. mark in the "Optimize for 16 Color" checkbox, and one in the 
  216. "Use RealColors if Available" checkbox.  Both checkboxes are 
  217. located in the "Configure" dialog.
